End of my 3wks Geron Posting. this posting has been a nice one, with lots of learning opportunities and a nice ward and staffs :D think this is the best posting out of so many that i have been to. will miss this ward.

we always avoid to have any ''happenings'' on the last day of the posting. but as always, there's always drama happening on the last day. today's ward is quite chaotic, with all the sudden happenings and another issue in another ward that caused a big drama too.

well well, at least everyone passed this posting with very nice comments from the clinical instructor and the ward sisters. staffs and sisters are very pleased with our performance which made us very very happy :D

next up, a 1 wk break for us to to have a short rest and then 3mths PRCP.

but meanwhile, lets enjoy to the fullest during the 1 wk break :D

am boiling mad right now. seriously feel like strangling my CI. not only is she very very naggy + irritating, she always made us do unnecessary stuffs!! this mornning, she asked about my case study, which i've already done and ready to be presented on thursday. then i dunnoe wth happened, she made me re-do my case study AGAIN. a TOTALLY NEW CASESTUDY. the reason that she gave is so WTH lor. a few others had to redo too.


so i have to REDO my CASESTUDY for NO REASON AT ALL. WTF?


anyway, PRCP Postings are OUT. posted to this ward that i have been to in year 2 i think. forgot how it looks like already. and CGH changed their schedule, in the past, students worked monday to friday. now we worked monday to saturday. but thankfully there's day off in btw. i seriously wonder how to work through night shift lah.


back to my casestudy. ARGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Saturday:
celebrated Jovin's 20th at town :D


Sunday:
went for driving lesson. first time driving on the roads when its raining cats and dogs. really damn hard to see clearly lah, no wonder its dangerous to speed. and my instructor changed car, the new car is nicer to drive (:


Monday:
took cases and passed reports in the ward. damn stressful lah. have to follow doctor's round, do discharges, call PT/OT/ST to make appointments and blah blah blah. thankfully the staffs are very nice, guided us along :D

PRCP posting's supposed to be out today. but the system is not up yet. *anxious lah*

oh ya, saw cousin at CGH working as a staff in one of wards. haha. her ward's staffs also quite nice lah (:


alright, back to work on my casestudy.

first day of gerontology posting. ever since my 5 weeks of hols, my biological clock has been tuned to waking up at 12/1 pm in the afternoon. that explains the difficulty in waking up so early this morning. and the very first thing that i felt when i woke up was a damn sickening headache :((

spent 3/4 of the day having orientation. very good (: been like 7mths since we stepped into the ward. been very long since we bathe patients, changed diapers, serve medications. but we dint do much today, just getting used to the ward.


the whole ward is full of old people, 60 yrs and above. mostly bed bound. as what the clinical instructor says, "they are now in their last lap of life, they have already given lots to the society and now its time for them to rest, so give them the best nursing care that we can, make them feel happy, cause everybody only live once, make it one with no regrets".


damn. till now the sickening headache is still bugging me :((

2nd driving lesson. this time round is much smoother (: went driving on the main roads. still a lil confused on the changing gears part but still can manage luh. now able to drive properly on the road, not like a snake. LOL.

ahhhh, attachments starting next monday. there goes my holidays already :(( all the way till next year, 30th Jan 09. lets just hope that at least there's off day for us during the public holidays. need to do a lil readup on the clinical manuals, pray hard that everything will go smoothly (:

cant be erased

driving lessons are so expensive. tskk. my bank account will be so dried up after i got my licence. heh, but its worth it lah :D


the first 45 mins of the lesson was spent listening to him talking about gears, clutch, safety, how to manoeuvre the car and blah blah. and for the next 1hr 15 mins, i was actually driving on the road :D so excited lah, that i pressed accelarator too hard, braked tooo hard. and think the car died like 3 times cos i released the clutch way too early :((

but after awhile, i got used to driving and it went pretty well :D but still abit confused over the changing gears part. and the car speed was like 25 to 30km/h only, dont dare drive too fast. HAHA :D


the thing is i need to adjust the car seat, cos he said my legs cant step properly on the pedals =.=


looking forward to the next lesson :D

what strikes me so hard

doubt i will start driving on the first lesson,
and the instructor speaks only mandarin.
so all the explanations will be in mandarin.
lets hope i'll understand him. HAHA :D

You havent had the slightest idea

my precious holidays is coming to an end already! was quite lazy to get my ass out of the house to look for jobs. but thankfully i've got 2 tuitions on hand to increase the $$ in my bank, so still alright lah.


school syallubus is getting tougher and tougher. Sec 4's are already studying some parts of JC maths, Sec1 studying Sec4's stuffs, and primary school kids studying sec sch stuffs. thankgod i came out to this world early. and kids are so damn hyperactive these days.


been having this sort of chest pain these days. lets hope its nothing serious. but the problem of being medically trained in these areas is that you get paranoid over a slightest sign and cant help but to think of the worst case scenario.


hooked onto this song, Lucky by Jason Mraz. been looping this song over and over again for the past few days.
